Do you want to help build a bright future for Arkansas kids? Join the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading for a day at the Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 22!
You play an important role in supporting policies that ensure Arkansas children grow up to their fullest potential. Too many students in our state fail to reach the critical milestone of reading at grade level by the end of third grade, placing their future success at risk.
If you think Arkansas should continue to boost pre-K programs or invest in after-school and summer learning opportunities, lend your voice to support the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading to advocate for smart policies. The day at the capitol will begin with a legislative breakfast at 7:30 a.m. followed by a variety of chances to speak up for policies that benefit all Arkansas children.
At the legislative breakfast, you’ll have the chance to learn more about the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, meet with fellow constituents, enjoy breakfast and find out how your decisions can support Arkansas’s future.
The Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading will address policy priorities — including tools to help elementary teachers, expanded pre-K programs, investment in after-school and summer programs, greater funding for school-community partnerships — that support reading proficiency in early education. With the support of concerned individuals from across the state, the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading will explain why these priorities matter and how achieving literacy goals at an early age benefits children — and society — for the rest of their lives.
