Addiction and deaths related to opioids – drugs prescribed to treat moderate and severe pain – continue to rise in Arkansas. Explore the facts behind the state’s situation and learn about treatment options and available resources when expert guests join us in a special “Arkansans Ask” Thursday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m.

Expert panelists include: Arkansas State Drug Director Kirk Lane; John Kirtley, Pharm.D., executive director of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy; Dr. Michael Mancino, M.D., program director of the Center for Addiction Services and Treatment UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute; and William Scott Doerhoff, executive director of the William Christian Doerhoff Memorial Foundation. Veteran journalist Steve Barnes will serve as host.
