Continue the season’s exploration of the state’s physiographic regions as we visit the Ozark Plateaus in this month’s episode of “Agri Arkansas” on Sunday, Dec. 27, at 1 p.m.
Bordered on the south by the Arkansas River Valley and on the east by the Delta, the Ozark Plateaus covers most of northern Arkansas.
In the episode, we’ll investigate the driving force behind the region’s agriculture and examine how the mountainous landscape affects its residents’ agriculture practices.
We’ll also observe how Arkansas poultry producers are working to lessen the chances of an again influenza outbreaking during the fall and spring migration cycles through biosecurity measures.
Then, we’ll take a trip to Meadowcreek, near Fox, to learn about their sustainable agriculture community.
Finally, guests Harrison Pittman, director of the National Agricultural Law Center at the University of Arkansas, and Misty Langdon, of Our Green Acre Farm, join the closing panel discussion with host Tony Brooks.
