We had a great time with our new friends from the AETN Youth Academy Production Camp last week!
In camp, we progressed through a lot of different skills as our we stepped into the creative and exciting world of filmmaking.
We got our start covering the filmmaking process from concept to launch by getting to know each other and covering filmmaking basics.
We had editing lessons and hands-on time to get to know the equipment with AETN Production Technician Lindsey Farler and AETN Education and Instruction Specialist Zack McCannon.
Then, on top of learning about story development, scriptwriting and post production, our junior producers spoke with AETN’s On-Air Promotions Supervisor Jennifer Gibson about how to set up interviews and transition segments.
And, after our production crash course, our talented campers headed out about town to put their new skills to use and interview Kyle Tabor, the owner of Blue Sail Coffee in downtown Conway.
Once we finished all of traveling and additional interviews, we returned to the studio where our teams worked together to edit and finalize their short films for a wonderful red carpet premiere.
We couldn’t be prouder of this year’s Production Camp participants. On top of working together to develop new skills — like directing, videography and editing with iMovie — they truly made our week. We hope we get to see them all again soon!
