AETN Student Selects LRFFYouth! Workshops

There’s still just a bit of time to register to participate in the 2014 AETN Student Selects LRFFYouth! Workshops on Wednesday May 14, 2014. If you know an Arkansas student who would like the opportunity to learn from the state’s best filmmakers, meet the nation’s finest storytellers, screen their very own films and be a part of Arkansas’s fastest growing film festival, email or call Casey Sanders at or 800-662-2386. The schedule of events is included below.

Participating students may attend all sessions at no charge, however they will be responsible for bringing or purchasing their own meals.

Students will also receive LRFF Youth passes, which may be used to see films screening at the Little Rock Film Festival. The very popular Arkansas Shorts will screen Wednesday night at See full schedule soon at, and Student Selects films will be screened Thursday, May 15, at 10 a.m. in the CALS Ron Robinson Theater

MASTERCLASS - Developing Your Story Little Rock Marriott
Concurrent Session
Story Development Story Outline Scriptwriting
Pitch Session
The first part of this morning session will be a lively presentation/discussion with professional scriptwriters and content developers (HBO, Cinemax, etc.). The second part of the morning will be hands-on story development in small groups. Session ends with student lead “Pitch Sessions.”


MASTERCLASS - Acting for the Camera Little Rock Marriott
Concurrent Session
Participants learn to get comfortable in front of the lens. Instruction focuses on understanding technical and emotional adjustments required for working in front of the camera, working in a relaxed and truthful way, and developing confidence with the camera. Some exercises are performed on camera, and with emphasis on close-ups, simple scenes and basic camera moves.

MASTERCLASS - Filmmaking Little Rock Marriott
General Session
Directing, Working with Actors, Interviewing, Camerawork, Lighting,

In this session students from the concurrent sessions will come together for a hands-on digital workshop designed to teach basics in directing, cinematography, interviewing with an emphasis on the director's analysis of a scene, blocking actors, directing actors and understanding the camera as a character.
