Do you fall asleep at night laughing at the "Last of the Summer Wine" gang's shenanigans? Saturdays snickering at "MI-5" antics? Or Sunday evenings chortling at the faux pas of a hemophobic physician? Then you just might be Britcom lover! Tune in Saturday, Dec. 8, starting at 8 p.m., for our special "Pick-A-Brit" marathon and you could help us chose AETN's newest Britcom for 2013.
So, to begin with, what will you be choosing from?
Your first option will be "Mulberry," airing at 8 p.m., where a mysterious man appears at the household of a cantankerous spinster and applies to be her manservant. Antics ensue as current staffers are instantly suspicious of the new hire (the position hasn't been advertised, after all). And, as it goes, their suspicions are well placed: Mulberry is an apprentice Grim Reaper assigned to escort Miss Farnaby to the next world and is dedicated to making ensuring the sullen lady's last days on earth are happy ones.
Next up for your perusal, at 8:30 pm., is "Old Guys." Two aging housemates, Tom inane and Roy Bowden, live across the street from Sally - whom they both fancy. The old gents - one deserted by his wife the other a pensioner who believes himself to be one of the country's leading intellectuals - lead capers accordingly.
Finally, at 9 p.m., the evening of options wraps with "Blackadder the Third," featuring Rowan Atkinson as anti-hero Edmund Blackadder and his dogsbody, Baldrick, played by Tony Robinson. This installment of the popular "Blackadder" series follows the fellows through life in the Regency period where E. Blackadder Esquire serves as butler to royal fop Prince Regent, Prince of Wales (Hugh Laurie).
Now, assuming you can choose just one show to root for, what next? The answer is simple, my friends! Just stay tuned to the screen! AETN December Membership Campaign hosts will pop in during breaks with specific instructions for when to place your vote. However, assuming you miss your cue, you'll be able to call in with your choice at 800.682.2386. After that, all that's left to do is watch for your newest pick in early 2013!
