On Thursday, Oct. 24, we were honored to recognize the dedicated volunteers who make everything we do possible, by getting to turn the tables and serve them! After starting the night off with music by the Shannon Boshears band and a silent auction benefitting the Arkansas PBS Foundaion's Jane Krutz Volunteer Program Endowment (our greatest thanks to the many vendors, local businesses and friends of AETN who donated items for auction), we the wonderful opportunity to serve our volunteers dinner, donated by Russo's Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen of Conway, and distinguish several of our most-dedicated supporters.

Nancy Chappell, Jane Krutz Volunteer Service Award-winner

Our first honoree, Nancy Chappell of Conway, received the Jane Krutz Volunteer Service Award in recognition of more than 13 years of volunteering and organizing a group of retired Conway residents and year-round volunteers who call themselves The Golden Guys and Gals. Since its creation, The Golden Guys and Gals group members have volunteered their time to serve at AETN every Tuesday and Friday afternoon.

The Golden Guys and Gals of Conway were also recognized individually for their invaluable volunteer service. Members of the group include Nancy and Bob Chappell, Marge and Ray Stark, Deola and Ray Davis, Vivian Hendon, Joyce Hartsfield, Melba O'Kelley, Kay Huesmann, Nancy and Lyle Allison, Reba Luck, and Barbara and Wayne King.

While our Volunteer Appreciation and Awards Dinner is an annual event, everyone at AETN is deeply grateful to our volunteers every day. Their ongoing efforts help ensure that our our programs air, our program guides mail out, our fundraising is successful, and so much more. They make everything that the Arkansas PBS Foundaion and AETN as whole accomplish possible. Thank you, all, for your dedicated service!
