This course, which meets the scheduled parental involvement requirement of Act 969 of 2013, features conversations with caregivers and community partners, advice from experts, descriptions of state initiatives, round table discussions, and heartwarming success stories. Course code PIB18054.
This course features descriptions of Arkansas trafficking cases as told by Homeland Security Special Agent Jeffery Pryor and Louise Allison and Casonia Vinson, the director and outreach coordinator for the victim advocacy organization PATH. An explanation of the reporting guidelines for mandated reporters in Arkansas is also provided. Course code ERB18063.
Imagine how many of Arkansas's students would benefit if all of their teachers had a deeper understanding of literacy development. In this introductory course, Arkansas Commissioner of Education Johnny Key and Assistant Commissioner for Learning Services Stacy Smith explain the importance of having a basic knowledge of the science of reading and why it is important to use evidence-based research to inform literacy instruction. The discussion also encompasses goals of the Reading Initiative for Student Excellence (R.I.S.E.) and The Right to Read Act (Arkansas Act 1063 of 2017). Course code ELB18056 for the first of this 18-hour learning path.
