Coming to Arkansas PBS April 5-7, “Hemingway” — a three-part, six-hour documentary film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick — explores the life and work of the legendary writer and his enduring influence on literature and culture.

His impact on the style of English prose was enormous, earning him the title of “The most important author since Shakespeare,” according to John O’Hara in The New York Times Book Review.

As you count down to the premiere, treat yourself to a re-reading of some of Ernest Hemingway’s greatest works! We’re making this literary binge cycle even easier to begin with a special giveaway with a collection of Hemingway classics — including “The Sun Also Rises,” “A Farewell to Arms,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and “The Old Man and the Sea” — in a Facebook contest.

For a chance to win your own Hemingway Boxed Set of these beloved and enduring novels, enter our Facebook contest by commenting on the post pinned to the top of our page and tell us your favorite Hemingway work — whether it’s a novella, short story, news piece or Nobel Prize-winner! The contest, which is open only to Arkansas residents, will run from Thursday, March 18, through noon Friday, April 30. The winners will be selected by random drawing. Arkansas PBS will respond to the winning commenters’ posts on Facebook to notify them and to request that they direct message or email to claim the book set and arrange for shipping. Winners will have one business day to claim their Hemingway Boxed Set. In the event that a winner does not claim the prize in an allotted time period, another winner will be drawn.

We’re excited to share these great works and investigate Hemingway’s fascinating, tumultuous with you! Visit us at facebook.com/ArkasnasPBS to enter for your chance to win.
